Alvina J. Klein, 95, of the Town of Mitchell passed away on Friday evening, May 26, 2017 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Alvina was born on February 9, 1922 in the Town of Scott a daughter to the late John and Jessie (Goll) Strack. She attended the Pershing School. On October 27, 1949 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Klein. Together they operated a dairy farm. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1998. Along with helping on the farm Alvina enjoyed gardening and canning. Alvina was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia Alvina is survived by her two sons, John (Yvonne) Klein of the Town of Mitchell and Ralph (Mary) Klein of Waldo; four grandchildren, Sarah (Marvin) Gahagan of Plymouth, Jesse Klein(fianc Anne Gerber) of Adell, Adam Klein of Waldo and Bradley (Sara) Klein of Appleton; five great grandchildren, Benjamin, Reese, Ryder, Mylee and Mason and a sister-in-law, Lois Strack of the Town of Scott. Other relatives and friends also survive. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marion Krause, Luzetta Habeck and Malinda Habeck, a brother David Strack and an infant brother, John Strack. A funeral service for Alvina will be held 5 pm, Tuesday, May 30 at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia with Rev. Hap Itson officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the church, N1667 Hwy 28 in Batavia from 3 pm until the time of service at 5 pm. In preference to flowers memorials in Alvinas name may be directed to Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia or Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo. Alvinas family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Gables on the Pond in Waldo and Random Lake and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
