Jerome Rosche Obituary

Jerome E. Rosche, age 81 a Town of Lyndon resident, passed away at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center, surrounded by family on Friday, August, 12, 2016. Jerome was born on December 28, 1934 in Cascade, WI, to the late Martin and Edith (Wittkopp) Rosche. He attended Waldo Grade School for two years, Cascade Grade School for six years, and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. He then continued his studies at UW Madison in the Farm Short Course and graduated in 1953. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Cascade where he became a lifelong member. He served as an usher for many years along with being an Elder, on Stewardship and, Church President. In June of 1950 his father met his untimely death which left Jerome at the age of 15 to manage and operate the family farm, with help from his two younger brothers. All while attending junior and senior high school Jerome was milking the cows and working the land. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Helmke on August 22, 1955 in Kahoka, MO, and then later divorced. On October 27, 1974 Jerome then married Nancy Soboleski at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade. Jerome drove the milk truck for Beine Milk Transit for seven years. For a total of 18 years he was the district sales manager for Super Crost Seeds, a sales supervisor and hog specialist for Dairyland Harverstore in Slinger and Mauston. He was also in agriculture related sales at Tonys Farm Equipment. In 1994, Jerome graduated with designation of Life Underwriters Training Council (L.U.T.C.F.). For the next 18 years, Jerome was an agent for Rural Mutual Insurance, Farm Bureau Life Ins., and Registered Representative of Equipment Marketing Services, LLC. Jerome was a proud member where he served on the board of directors of the Farm Bureau for Sheboygan County, FS Co-Op of Waldo, and Sheboygan County Board of Adjustments. He was also a member of Sheboygan County Meat Animal Sale Committee and the Sheboygan County Fair where he volunteered 19 years of his time and equipment to photograph the exhibits with the animals at the sale. Each exhibitor received a photo of the animal and the buyer, soon after other county fairs around the state started to photograph as well. Jerry was instrumental with establishing a hospitality hour before the meat animal sale for the buyers, which came to be a very successful program. Amongst volunteering his time to different boards, Jerome also dedicated 60 years as a volunteer fireman for the Cascade Fire Department. He was active in the Township of Lyndon and served as the Chairman of Plan Commission for 37 years. As the Chairman of the Committee he wrote a 20 year plan for the township and was the building permit agent since 2005. Jerome thoroughly enjoyed growing his crops and livestock, but he also looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Canada with David and Darlene Conrad since 1975. Some years Jerome would make a second trip to Canada for a combined total of 50 times over the years. Traveling to London, Paris, Acapulco, Spain, Morocco, Africa, Tangier, Jamaica, Bahamas, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico was also something he was very proud of. Jerome is survived by his wife Nancy; his five children, Lawrence (Martha) Rosche of Plymouth, WI, Therese ( fianc Al Zimmer) Schwab of Cedar Grove, WI, Gary (friend Lyn Beyer) Rosche of Glenbeulah, WI, Daryl (Yvonne) Rosche of Hewitt, WI, and Gerald (Tricia) Rosche of Kaukauna, WI; five grandchildren, Brian "BJ" (Jenny), Brenda, Scott (Kathy), Benjamin (Katie), and Kristin; a step-granddaughter Heather; three great grandchildren, Jemma, Myles, and Evan; a step great granddaughter Izabelle; one sister Joyce Heinemann in Cascade, WI; one brother Keith (Pat) Rosche of Wheaton, IL.
