Arland E. Avery, age 86, of 11806 Lakeshore Road, Two Rivers, died Saturday evening, January 11, 2025, surrounded by family at home.
Arland was born on May 24, 1938, in Manitowoc County, a son of the late Earl and Loretta (Mott) Avery. He graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1957 and honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years. On June 6, 1996, he married Agnes Reimer in Crivitz, she preceded him in death on November 13, 2020. Arland started with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department as a Jailor, was promoted to Deputy, led the department Dive & Rescue Team, became a detective and retired as the Huber Law Officer. In his retirement he was an installer of Dish Network and Direct TV systems. Arland was a fisherman, hunter and outdoor enthusiast and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a lifetime member of the Manitowoc Rifle Club.
Survivors include his children: Shawn Avery, and Rebecca (Gabriel Llumbet) Avery and children: Anthony, Colten and Nico; step-daughters: Tammi (Lance) Brux and her son, Dominic, and Kari (Todd) Gilbert and their children: Savanna and Josiah; two brothers: Gene (Val) Avery and Allan Avery; very close friends: Debbie and Steve Koch; along with nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Arland was also preceded in death by two sisters: Sharon and Yvonne.
Arland’s family will greet relatives and friends at Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Klein & Stangel location, 1420 22nd St., Two Rivers, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A time of reflection, led by Arland’s family will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Military Honors, presented by V.F.W. Post #1248 and American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers, immediately following the service at the funeral home.
