Arleen J. Verlinden, age 90, of Manitowoc, passed away Thursday morning, December 2, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Arleen was born on February 21, 1931 in Town of Preston, Trempealeau County, daughter of the late William and Martha (Lesniewski) Frederickson. She graduated from Milwaukee South Division High School with the class of 1949. On May 7, 1955 Arleen married Kenneth Verlinden at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2007. She enjoyed traveling and reading. Arleen was a former member of Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, Bradenton, FL and maintained an active church life participating in the church’s cradle roll and was a current member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Larry J. (Linda) Verlinden, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Sandy (Dr. Dean) Hagness, Stevens Point; six grandchildren: Rachel (Troy) Becker, Rebecca (Justin) Schnell, Nathan (Luiza) Verlinden, Nicholas (Ayanna) Hagness Duren, Alexander Hagness, Christopher Hagness; two great-grandchildren: Malcolm and Marcus Hagness Duren; one brother and sister-in-law: Eugene (Betty) Frederickson, LaVista, NE, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Martha Frederickson; her husband: Kenneth Verlinden; one daughter: Karen Verlinden; one sister and brother-in-law: Laverne (Elroy)Marquardt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Matthew Zimpelmann will officiate with burial to follow at the Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
