Arlene M. (Free) Stock

Arlene M. Stock, age 78, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at The Bay at Northridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc after a battle with illness.

Arlene was born on July 25, 1943 in the town of Liberty to the late Clarence and Elmira (Karstaedt) Free. She was confirmed at and a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She attended Webster one-room School, and graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1961. On July 6, 1963 Arlene married Clifford Stock at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

Arlene worked several jobs after graduating high school, including Associated Bank, Copps Department Store, and Holy Family Convent. She spent most of her years then working at Shopko Department Store, until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed doing a wide variety of quilts and other crafts, selling her items at craft shows, and reading. She also loved playing cards once a month with friends.

Survivors include three children: Gregory(Victoria)Stock, Appleton, Todd(Karen)Stock, Knoxville, TN, Wendy(John)Meyer, St. Nazianz: eight grandchildren: Ashley Stock, Christopher Stock, Ethan Stock, Shane(Noah)Whitney, Brianna Stock, Rachel Stock, Scott Meyer, and Rose Meyer; one great-grandchild: Ella Stock; Siblings: Janice Woyciehosky, Manitowoc, Joann(Jim)Schamburek, Manitowoc, Carol(Marty)Puls, Manitowoc; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joan Free, Manitowoc, Jeanette Junk, Manitowoc, Willard Stock, VA, Darlene(Fred)Schnell, Manitowoc, Pearl Stock, Manitowoc, Marcy Stock, Sun Prairie, Qualine Stock, FL; godchildren: Neil Free, Michelle Schamburek, and Scott Free, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Stock, her son Douglas Stock, her parents Clarence and Elmira (Karstaedt) Free, father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Emma (Erdmann) Stock; brothers and sisters: Eugene Free, Wayne Free, Allen Free, and Phyllis Free; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Beatrice Free, Phillip Woyciehosky, Kathy Free, Norman(Marion)Stock, Milton Stock, Leroy(Ilene)Stock, Garfield Stock, Roger Stock, Roland(Grace)Stock, Verna(Ned)Zander, Raymond(Lorraine)Thone, and Kenneth Junk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Zachary DeArmond will officiate. Entombment will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to the family for a charity of their choice.
