Audrey Kugle Obituary

Audrey V. Kugle, 91, Manitowoc, died peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Audrey was born on August 17, 1929 in the Town of Liberty to the late Fred and Ella (Pleus) Lippert. She was a 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and then furthered her education at Prospect Hall from 1948-49. On October 27, 1951 she married Roman Kugle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2011.

Audrey worked for 18 years at Brillion Iron Works as a secretary and then at Reedsville Bank. After retirement, she worked for Holy Family Hospital in the billing department.

Audrey was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Parish in Reedsville before moving to Manitowoc, when she became a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish.

Audrey took great pride in taking care of her yard and flower gardens. She attended every sporting event of her four boys from grade school through high school. She was a lifelong bridge player and did crossword puzzles daily. Audrey loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retirement Audrey and Roman traveled to many places across the United States and loved traveling almost yearly to California to visit one of her sisters. Until her last days, she still enjoyed a brandy old fashion or two in the evening.

Audrey will be missed by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Dennis (Nancy) Kugle, Monona, John Kugle, Manitowoc, and Bill (Sue) Kugle, Port Charlotte, FL; seven grandchildren: Cara (Clint) Thompson, Monona, Alex (Rachel) Kugle, Monona, Chrystal (Jeremiah) Sargent, Egg Harbor, Christian Kugle, and special friend, Katie Ann, Green Bay, Raye Kugle, Green Bay, Alexis Kugle, Maribel, Nicholas Kugle, fiancé Ashley, Green Bay, and Andrew Kugle, Washington DC; six great-grandchildren: Rowan, Reese, Ophelia, Audrey, Jayla, and Mia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roman Kugle; son, Jeff Kugle; four brothers and sisters-in-law; four sisters and three brothers-in-law; one infant brother and sister; five sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Waldo site, 1121 N. 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Ben Johnson will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday, July 24 from 9:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Reedsville.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Kugle Family in Audrey’s memory for charities to be determined at a later date.
