Audrey A. (Schenian) Wachal-Kerscher

Audrey A. Wachal-Kerscher, age 80, of Manitowoc passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.

The former Audrey Schenian was born on July 25, 1941 in the township of Franklin, daughter of the late Victor and Emma (Chizek) Schenian. Audrey attended the Reedsville School District and the Manitowoc Vocational School. On February 27, 1960 Audrey was married to Wayne W. Wachal at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Wayne and Audrey owned and operated Wachal’s Welcome Inn in Francis Creek. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1984. Audrey was then married to Frederick A. Kerscher on August 3, 1985 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Audrey worked for many years at Northern Labs office in Manitowoc until her retirement. Audrey also owned and operated Audrey’s Group Inc. which operated many group bus tours.

Audrey was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Kellnersville, St. Joseph’s Rosary Society and Kubale-O’Connell VFW Post #6179 of Kellnersville Auxiliary. She enjoyed her many trips to the casinos and her bus mystery trips.

Audrey is survived by her husband: Fred Kerscher, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Billy (Joan) Wachal, rural Valders; one brother and sister-in-law: Terry (Mary) Schenian, Green Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Bernita Schenian, Whitelaw, LuAnn (Norbert) Gruber, Manitowoc, Allen (Helen) Kerscher, Rhinelander, Tom (Jean) Kerscher, Francis Creek, David Kerscher, Mellen, Betty Kerscher, Manitowoc; special care giver: Tammy Cavanaugh, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor and Emma Schenian; one brother: Russell Schenian; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law include: Quirin (Eleanor) Wachal, Raymond (Leona) Kerscher; one brother-in-law: Ernie Kerscher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The Rev’s Robert Rank and Ronald Colombo will Concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
