Barbara F. (Groothoff) Litersky

Barbara F. (Groothoff) Litersky, of the Village of Mishicot, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.

Barbara was born December 4, 1953, in La Crosse to the late William Leroy and Catherine Rose (Copus) Groothoff. Barbara graduated from Mishicot High School in 1972. On January 19, 1974, Barbara married James R. Litersky Sr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James R. Litersky Sr.; two children: son James R. Litersky Jr., Lisa D. (Joe) DeBauche; six grandchildren: Christian, Samantha, Zachary, Sabastian, Orion, and Amara; five brothers: Richard, Michael (Margaret), William (Kathy), Ron (Cathy), Duane (Terri Jo); two sisters: Karen Skor (Allen Anderson), Roxanne (Jim) Gates; three brothers-in-law: Robert, Mark, and Dale; five sisters-in-law: Laverne, Germaine, Patricia, Irene (Dale), Diane (Bill). Nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law: Dorothy and Eugene Sr. Litersky; two brothers: Robert, Leroy (Carol); one sister: Marilyn Wilhelm; five brothers-in-law: Eugene Jr., Joseph, Chuck, Ed, and Bill; four sisters-in-law: Janice, Joanne, Alice, and Sue.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th St., Manitowoc). Burial will take place at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of their choice in memory of Barbara.
