Bonnie Paulson left this Earth to be with her husband, Bill, two sons: Terry & Tim, and Son-In-Law Alex, Tuesday afternoon, August 19th, 2025 at home.
Funeral services will be at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. There will be an 11:00 AM visitation, Thursday, August 28th, 2025. The Pastors Stephen Melso and Beck Goldbeck will officiate with private entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
Bonnie was born, raised, and educated in the Manitowoc School System, and her family of 7 children grew up in Manitowoc. Bonnie joined Bill in Panama during his service in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to Manitowoc, Bonnie was a partner with Bill in the Rollaire Skate Center (1957 until 1982) and Port-A-Pier (PAP) (1970-1993). During the ownerships, Bill also worked for Manitowoc County Highway Department (1961-1993) and Bonnie kept everything else in line including the 7 children (5 boys, 2 girls). Sons, Rick and Tracy, purchased PAP in 1993. Bill’s dream for PAP carried on. Bonnie retired from PAP after Bill’s passing in 2001 and Buddy, faithful friend a Black Cocker Spaniel, passed on August 25th, 2003.
The Paulson family grew to include 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom she truly loved and enjoyed her time with. She is survived by her children, Catherine Kluck (Paulson), William & Florance Paulson, Lynn Paulson, Rick & Cathy Paulson, Richard & Susan Aukamp (Paulson), Gloria Paulson, Tracy Paulson. Relatives and friends are welcome at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church August 28th from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM.
So many special relatives, nieces, nephews and friends preceded Bonnie in passing but a renewed “Come to Wisconsin” (reunions) with remaining relatives allowed Bonnie to enjoy and learn of the continuation of gatherings in the future.
A special thank you to Homecare Health Services & Hospice (Nurse Nikki & staff) whose exemplary guidance, information, compassion, and care of Bonnie and the family was highly valued. As well as Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes & Pfeffer Funeral Home location for assisting with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, gifts of love may be donated to Rollaire Skate Center, Homecare Health Services & Hospice, Lakeshore Humane Society, or to a charity close to your heart in Bonnie’s name.
On a side note: If you were a skater during Dad & Mom’s time of ownership, Mom wanted some of you to know that the “books of record” that had your name and incident(s) written in by you, have been destroyed. Your youthful antics have been permanently disposed of – ok, breath now. If you are so inclined, please pull out your skates, maybe put them on/maybe not, and enjoy the memories that we all have “thanks to Mom and Dad.”
