Carol Ann Gumtow, 68, of Reedsville, Wisconsin, unexpectedly entered eternal life on May 4, 2026.
Born on December 14, 1957, Carol was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School. She was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford and Harriet Knaup.
Carol married the love of her life, Roger Gumtow, in 1978. Together they built a life filled with family, friends, laughter, and unconditional love. She was a loving mother to her children, Jessica Gumtow and Justin (Jacqui) Gumtow, and a devoted grandmother to Jessica’s children, Zander and Draven and to Justin and Jacqui’s children, Lucas, Kristine (Josh), Maria, Sami, and Katie. She was also a proud great-grandmother.
Carol is survived by her brothers, Tom (Malia) Knaup, Bruce (Jill) Knaup, and Tim (Kim) Knaup; and by her sister-in-law, Laura Knaup, wife of her late brother Curt. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whom she loved deeply.
She was greeted in heaven by her daughter, Jessica Gumtow; her parents, Clifford and Harriet Knaup; and her brother, Curt Knaup.
Carol had a huge heart and a personality that was impossible to forget. She loved crafting, selling her art at craft shows, and collecting all kinds of odds and ends. Crafting was more than a hobby or profession to Carol — it was part of who she was. Her family and friends will forever miss her creativity, her generosity, and the way she could bring life and laughter to any room she entered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Menchalville Fire Station, 15331 County Road K, Reedsville, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited to join in sharing funny stories, favorite memories, refreshments, and laughter in honor of Carol’s life.
