Carol C. (Wiesner) Nelson

Carol C. Nelson, age 87, of Manitowoc passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Harbor View Assisted Living, Manitowoc with her family by her side.

Carol was born December 7, 1937 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Plautz) Wiesner. On June 18, 1960 she was united in marriage to Elroy Nelson at First German Church, Manitowoc.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 1984.

Carol was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.  She was a cook for the Holy Family Convent prior to her retirement.  Carol enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and crafts.

Survivors include her children: Carrie (Henry) Grant; Eric (Lana) Nelson; her grandchildren: Alissa Grant, Alex Grant and Eli Nelson (fiancée Jennifer Slaby); her sister: Shirley Umnus; her brother Gerald (Pat) Wiesner; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Mabel Wiesner, her husband Elroy Nelson, an infant grandson Ethan Nelson, her sisters Marilyn Nelson and Betty Wiesner, a brother-in-law Alan Umnus, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Violet & Robert Rue and one niece Nancy Krueger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.  Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Daniel Lyman with burial to take place at Gjerpen Cemetery at a later time.

The Family will greet relatives and friends at Faith Lutheran Church on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m.
