Carolyn J. (Ziarnik) Barnett

Carolyn J. Barnett, age 87, of Manitowoc passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

Carolyn was born April 7, 1939 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Eleanor Ziarnik.  She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1958.  On July 10, 1965 she was united in marriage to John Barnett in Manitowoc.  He preceded her in death on January 26, 2021.

Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  As a truckdriver’s wife, Carolyn was very independent, resilient and structured; holding down the home, caring for the house, paying the bills and raising four kids while Dad was on the road. She was infamous for her early Saturday morning house cleaning, which her kids thoroughly enjoyed…never forgetting to “wipe down the baseboards.”

Carolyn enjoyed weekend family camping trips, vacations when possible, playing cribbage and cards, and spending time around the table chatting with her neighborhood friends.

Survivors include her children: Kim (Troy)Peters, Kevin (Jeneè) Barnett, David (Sara)Barnett and Craig (LeAnn) Barnett; seven grandchildren: Alex and Christian Peters, Austin (Hannah) and Tyler (Bree) Barnett , Abbey Barnett, ‘Little’ John and Leah Barnett; one great- grandchild: Cohen Peters; sister-in-Law: Cindy Barnett; nieces: Rebecca Summers and Megan (Ben) Ipson; and many more family members and friends

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother: Eleanor; husband: John; brother-in- law: Peter; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26th, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave.).  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Nicholas Stellpflug.  Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m.
