Cheryl A. Kleckner (Franz), age 65 of Manitowoc passed into her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her residence.
Cheryl was born on May 13, 1958, in Manitowoc, daughter of Myvanwy (Krajnik) Franz and the late Richard Franz. She grew up in Mishicot and graduated 10th in the class from Mishicot High School in 1976. She grew up with a love for music and public speaking while in high school, winning many local state and national honors for trombone, singing, forensics, and extemporaneous speaking. Her love for music continued into her later life, spending 11 years at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, teaching Sunday school music to 3rd through 8th grades, and running the yearly Christmas program. Over the years Cheryl worked for Mirro, MCM, and Bemis Manufacturing, eventually retiring due to disability. Cheryl had a creative talent and passion for floral crafts; she had decorated her home and sold her arrangements for many years at craft fairs or out of her home under her business name of Affordable Florals and Recyclables. She had a passion for beagles and would adopt them as she could from Lakeshore Humane Society. Her children and love of dogs gave her a purpose each day.
Survivors include her mother: Myvanwy Franz, Manitowoc; her three children: Calvin Kleckner, Kenosha, Marissa Kleckner, Green Bay, and Michelle (Mike) Schuler, Appleton; three grandchildren: Cameron Kleckner and his special friend Chloe, Myleah Schuler, and Londyn Schuler; her dogs: Petey and Booker; her granddog: Lambeau; five siblings: Kitty (Dan) Doersch, Richard Franz Jr, Mark (Sheila) Franz, Karla (Gary) LaFave, and Verla Franz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her father: Richard Franz Sr.; her son: Randy Kleckner; her special friend: Chad Huffman; one sister: Yvonne Wellner; one brother: Nyle Franz; and her many canine companions.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Machut’s Supper Club, 3911 Lincoln Ave, Two Rivers, starting at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations would be appreciated for the Lakeshore Humane Society.
