Daniel “Dan” Dominic DeWitt, age 57, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday morning, October 2, 2021 at his residence.
Dan was born on July 16, 1964 in Mount Clemens, MI, son of the late Alfred and Maryanne (Campell) DeWitt. He went to culinary arts college and was an executive chef working for various companies throughout his career. On June 2, 2016 he married the former Luanne Flaa in Logan, OH. Dan was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved animals and also enjoyed hiking. He was a talented archer and trapper.
Survivors include his wife: Luanne DeWitt; three step children: Valerie (Dan) Carballo, Michelle (Aaron) Hoeppner, Joshua (Alexandra) Schmidt; seven step grandchildren; one brother: Patrick (Jill) DeWitt and their sons: Josh, Collin and Ryan; step-mother: Norma DeWitt; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth “Bob” and Luetta Flaa; and four brothers-in-law: Kevin (Kristine) Flaa, Paul (Lori) Flaa, Mark (Julie) Flaa, and Michael (Julie) Flaa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Alfred “Freddy” DeWitt.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Two Rivers, or to a local animal shelter of your choice.
