David "Pork" Braun Obituary

David J. “Pork” Braun, age 63, of Cato passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, surrounded by family.

Pork was born on August 19, 1962, in Manitowoc, a son of the late Reinhold G. and Louise M. (Reimer) Braun. He attended Valders High School. Pork worked at Mastercraft Machine for two years and then Sheahan Industries of Maple Grove for twenty years. He also farmed in the Town of Cato, throughout the years.

Pork was a member of the Inland Snowblazers Snowmobile Club and a representative of the Manitowoc County Snowmobile Alliance. He was very involved with collecting vintage snowmobiles and enjoyed riding his snowmobile on club trips with his friends. In the past, he also enjoyed motorcycle riding, trap shooting, hunting, and drag racing, especially watching it. Pork enjoyed going to snow shows and swap meets, Hodag and Catfish concerts, as well as listening to ZZ Top and Lynard Synard. When he was a drinker, he liked drinking micro brewed beer. Pork was a former member of the Menchalville Volunteer Fire Department, Viking Bow and Gun Club, and the Reedsville Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the NSRA-National Street Rod Association and enjoyed going to car shows.

Survivors include two brothers, one sister-in-law, four sisters, and four brothers-in-law: Roger Braun, Cato, Marilyn (James) Cihowiak, Appleton, Linda (Timothy) Hansen, Onalaska, Susan Braun, Green Bay, Kathy (Martin) Fredenberg, Tisch Mills, Joe (Kim) Braun, Whitelaw, Jim Schroeder, Manitowoc; one special friend: Susie Braun, Whitelaw; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Reinhold G. and Louise M. Braun; two brothers: Dennis Braun and James Braun; three sisters: Beverly Braun, Debra Braun, and Lois Schroeder; two nieces: Katie Braun and Marta Hansen; one sister-in-law: Peggy Braun; one great-nephew: Christopher Barlament; three special friends waiting for him in Heaven with a Highball in their hands: John Huske, Mike Meissner, and Pat Mangin.

Cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life to occur in the near future.
