Deborah A. Christian

Deborah “Debbie” A. Christian, 66, passed away at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County, on the morning of June 11, 2026 following a long illness.  Debbie was born at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc on March 23, 1960, beloved daughter of Keith and Shirley (Wehrwein) Christian. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated with the Roncalli High School class of 1978. Shortly after graduating, Debbie was the passenger in a terrible car accident, which took her more than a year to recover. In 1979, she began working as a certified nursing assistant at North Ridge Health and Rehab where she remained for 18 years. She also spent time working at Shady Lane, St. Mary’s, and River’s Bend.

Debbie was a very loving, caring, and giving person. She was passionate about music and maintained a large record collection, with Fleetwood Mac always being her favorite. Debbie and her sister Susan were enthusiastic about tennis, often watching and rooting for Chris Evert and Bjorn Borg. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and would travel to Lambeau Field any time they were in town. Of course, she also supported the Packers as well. She loved her three poodles: Fluffy, Spook, and Bear – spoiling them with love, attention, and the vegetables she did not want to eat. Debbie was a wonderful daughter and sister. She was loved and will be missed by those who knew her. May she be at peace.

Debbie is survived by her mother: Shirley Christian of Manitowoc; her sister: Susan (Arthur) Blake of Holland, MI; her nephew and godson: Dylan Blake of Grand Rapids, MI; as well as many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Christian.

There will be no funeral services. Arrangements are private at the convenience of the family and Debbie will be laid to rest alongside her father at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.

Debbie’s family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center for their care and compassion. Shirley would also like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thanks to the team at New Day Assisted Living in Manitowoc, who have gone above and beyond with the support they’ve shown. The “circle of angels” including Willow, Marenda, Michaela, Dawn, and Carrie Anne have been a blessing during an unimaginably difficult time.
