Delores "Dolly" Kathleen (Young) Boettcher

Delores Kathleen “Dolly” Boettcher (née Young), age 90, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in her hometown of Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Born on October 27, 1935, in Two Rivers, Dolly spent her entire life rooted in the community she cherished. She was proud of the two decades she worked at the Lester Public Library, but her greatest achievement in life was her family.

Dolly was a devoted wife to her beloved husband Orville for 51 years until his passing in 2007. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Their travels took them to many places, but Hawaii held a special place in their hearts.

She leaves behind a daughter Mary (Mark) Kohrell and son John (Sherrie) Boettcher. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Pierson Kohrell and his daughter Amirah; Avery (Colin) Leidall and their sons Grant and Marshall; Shelbie (Colin) Connor and her son Jameson Cline; Garner Kohrell (Nora Ptacek); Emerson Boettcher (fiancée Kevin Nowicki); and Aubree Boettcher (special friend Austin Ertel).  There are also many surviving cousins, nieces/nephews and their families, other relatives, friends and neighbors.  She was preceded in death by her father mother/stepmothers, her siblings Elaine and Robert, and in-laws Alice (John) Wilker, Violet (Roland) Stanull, Roland (Karen) Boettcher, Ruth (Herb) Miller, Delores (Ervin) Wisniewski), Harlan (Gail) Boettcher, Arnold Mehlhorn, Lester Boettcher and Ornie Boettcher.

Dolly found peace and inspiration in nature. She delighted in tending to her flower beds and listening to the melodies of her many wind chimes. The serenity of Lake Michigan brought her comfort throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church 3201 Mishicot Rd, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, January 2, 2025 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. A burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Pioneer Rest Cemetery in Two Rivers.
