Diane Cisler Obituary

Diane C. Cisler, age 87, of Manitowoc passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home, Manitowoc.

Diane was born December 28, 1937 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Gollata) Terens.  She was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the Class of 1956.  On May 25, 1957 she was united in marriage to Emil E. Cisler in Manitowoc.  He preceded her in death on February 23, 2016.

Diane spent 10 years running the hot lunch program at St. Mary’s School, followed by 28 years as the Head Baker for St. Mary’s Nursing Home, prior to her retirement.  She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the St. Clare Society, the Eagles Auxillary and the Red Hat Society.  Diane enjoyed line dancing, singing, baking, and volunteering at the Capitol Civic Centre, Froedtert Holy Family and the Franciscan Music Center.

Survivors include one daughter: Dr. Valerie Cisler, Stevens Point; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Jon E. Cisler, New York, NY; Dr. Ron A. & Lisa Cisler, Mattawan, MI and Rick A. & Lori Cisler, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Lauren & her husband Adolfo Palacios, Micaela, Reid, Rhett, Karalyn, Nicholas and Ella; four great grandchildren: Nadia, Alanis, Carson and Arlo; one brother and sister-in-law: John & Tracy Terens; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Nancy & Charles Rezachek, Iris & Chuck Denor and Gloria Thompson; two sisters-in-law: Faye Terens and Sue Cisler; one brother-in-law: Curt Pozorski; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her very special friend Connie Carlton.  Diane was preceded in death by her parents Arthur & Clara Terens; her husband Emil Cisler; one brother: Roger Terens; three sisters: Marcia Terens, Patricia Chizek and Karen Porodish; two sisters-in-law: Lucille Slovensky and Helen Pozorski; brothers-in-law: Mike Cisler, Lee Chizek, Dennis Porodish and Duane Slovensky; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John & Clara Cisler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi, Marshall site (2109 Marshall Street), Manitowoc.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:30 a.m.

The family extends their sincere gratitude for all of the compassionate and dignified care that Diane received at Aurora Medical Center, Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Felician Village.
