Diane Hartman Obituary

Diane A. Hartman, age 65, of Newton, died Tuesday September 16 at home.

Diane was born on March 22,1960, in Sheboygan, to the late Donald and Marlys Hilbelink.  She attended Gibbsville and Oostburg schools graduating in 1978.

Diane worked as a nursing assistant until she married Leon Hartman on May 29,1982 at St. Isidore church in Osman.  She did babysitting and helped Leon on the Hartman family dairy farm until retiring in 2019.

Diane has taught religious ed classes for many years and volunteered at St. Thomas the Apostle church.  She also volunteered at the Farm Discovery Center and at St. Vincent de Paul with sons Nathan and Jason.

Survivors include her husband Leon and 3 sons Adam, Nathan, and Jason all at home; brother: Dean Hilbelink and special friend Diane; Sisters:  Debbie (Doug) Ten Haken, Darlene (Wayne) Meives, Denise (Steve) Gumieny, Donna (Steve) Wilinski, also brothers in law: Allen (Sheri) Hartman, Ron Hartman and special friend Rhonda, John (Sharon) Hartman, Paul (Wendy) Hartman, Andy Hartman, and sister in law: Bonnie (Tim) Bruckner, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her parents Donald & Marlys Hilbelink, one sister-in-law Wendy Hilbelink and her father and mother-in-law Leo & Marion Hartman

Cremation has taken place and the family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Newton.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Beaudry with inurnment to take place following the service at the church cemetery.
