Donna J. Miller

Donna J. Miller age 84, formerly of Manitowoc and a resident of Bellevue Senior Living, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday morning January 8, 2025 at Rennes Health Care, in De Pere.

The former Donna Steinbrink was born on November 28, 1940 in Racine, a daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Jansen) Steinbrink. She grew up in Racine and was a graduate in 1959 of Racine Parkside High School. She attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and received her bachelor’s degree in education Summa Cum Laude, while at Whitewater she belonged to a sorority. On June 30, 1962 Donna married Richard Miller at Messiah Lutheran Church in Racine. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2023.

Donna and Richard moved to Ramsey, NJ where their eldest son was born in 1966 and to Springfield, Massachusetts where their son Dan was born in 1969. Donna and Richard brought their family back to Racine and then to Manitowoc, where they opened and operated Miller Hardware and Garden Center in Manitowoc for ten years. Donna and Richard then moved to Seattle, WA and later moved to Santa Rosa, CA, Florida, North Carolina and lastly Hendersonville, TN. Following Richard’s death Donna moved to Green Bay to be closer to family. Donna was very proud of her sons and their amazing wives and especially her granddaughters whom she loved to spoil and play games with. While living in Manitowoc, Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church and was active in Heart-a-Rama.

Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law: Dan (Connie) Miller, Toronto, Marlene Miller, De Pere; four granddaughters: Christina, Rachel, Alexandra and Clara Miller; one brother and sister-in-law: Dan (Marie) Steinbrink, CO; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Kay (Ken) Wynstra, CO, Dave Nielson, Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Dan and Anna Steinbrink; her husband: Richard Miller; one son: Dean Miller; one sister: Sandy Nielson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc). Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.
