Dorothy M. Foreyt, 92, of Manitowoc passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Froedtert Holy Family Hospital.
Dorothy was born on October 25, 1933 in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late William and Antonia (Zeman) Sleger. On April 30, 1955, she married Paul Foreyt in Manitowoc at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2020. In her early years, she worked at Mirro Company and Aluminum Specialty. Dorothy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and The Happy Hoppers. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, cards, and gardening.
Dorothy is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Emily Ruether and Francis (Joyce) Foreyt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: William and Antonia Sleger; her husband: Paul Foreyt; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Steve and Anna Foreyt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eleanor (George) Jung, Helen (Vincent) Samz, Adeline (James) Sauer, Russell Ruether, Marie (Leroy) Lasee, Patricia Foreyt, and Donald Radey; and nephews: Greg Sauer and Brian Ruether.
A funeral service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Waldo Site, 1121 N. 14th Street, with Rev. Arogya Prashanth Gade officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. The mass will be livestreamed on the Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes Facebook page, starting at 11:15am. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Calvary Mausoleum.
