Douglas (Doug) Steinberg, of Oregon, WI, joined the Lord in his eternal home in October 2025, shortly after celebrating his 62nd birthday.
Doug was born on October 25,1963 to Beverly and Peter Steinberg in Manitowoc, WI. It was there that he spent his childhood surrounded by a loving family and staying involved with school and community activities. As a young man, he served as a coach with the Manitowoc Chiefs Youth Football organization.
Doug graduated from Lakeland College in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to Madison, WI and spent most of his career working for the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections, both in the prison system and community corrections. Doug was actively involved in his church for many years where he volunteered playing music (guitar, mandolin, banjo, and trumpet). He was extremely proud of his son, Doug Jr., his daughter, Lydia, and his grandson, Darion. Though Doug enjoyed several hobbies, including playing music, wood carving, gardening, and various outdoor projects, he loved nothing more than being a dad and grandpa. These were the most important and meaningful roles in his life. Doug absolutely adored his grandson.
Doug is survived by his two children, Doug Steinberg Jr. (Amber Steinberg), Lydia Steinberg (Eduardo Herrera Cervantes), his grandson, Darion Johnson, his brothers Tom Steinberg (Carol Steinberg) and Pete Steinberg, his sister, Patsy Ocampo (Carlos Ocampo), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Beverly Steinberg, his brother, Bradley Steinberg, and his sister-in-law, Wendy Steinberg.
