Elaine Annamae (Ihlenfeldt) Scharping

Elaine Annamae Scharping, age 95 of Whitelaw, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at her residence.

Elaine was born on February 14, 1927 in Kewaunee, daughter of the late Fred and Mae (Schultz) Ihlenfeldt. She attended schools in Kewaunee and graduated from Kewaunee High School with the class of 1944. On June 19 1954 Elaine married Eric Scharping at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2008. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Maribel. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid, Church Choir and the Lakeshore Lutheran Chorale. Elaine and her husband Eric farmed side by side for many years.

She is survived by four children: Glenn Scharping, Whitelaw, Dale (Debbie) Scharping, Manitowoc, Janet (Todd) Habermann, Manitowoc, Carol (Kevin) Alenius, Brookfield; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Jon) Bosley, IL, Jason (Amanda) Scharping, Two Rivers, Laura (Brandon) Dillner, Port Washington, Daniel (Andrea) Habermann, Manitowoc, Paul (Karlie) Habermann, Oconomowoc, Eric Habermann and his fiancée; Taylor Binversie, Watertown; six great-grandchildren: Maya, Owen, Nohlan, Theo, Connor, Jonah; two sisters-in-law: Louise Ihlenfeldt, Kewaunee, Lorraine Strege, IN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Mae Ihlenfeldt; husband: Eric Scharping; three brothers; two sisters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 28, 2022 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Maribel. Rev. William Harley will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
