Emily M. (Berger) Junk

Emily M. Junk, age 94, formerly of the Town of Kossuth and a lifelong resident of Manitowoc County passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024.
The former Emily Berger was born on June 14, 1929, in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Polifka) Berger. She attended the Taus School. On October 10, 1953, Emily married Ronald J. Junk at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville, he preceded her in death on June 27, 1978. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and quilting. Emily was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek and St. Anne Alter Society, The Red Hatters, Two Rivers Senior Center and in the past was a 4-H leader for the Kossuth Challengers.
Survivors include her ten children: Barbara Windus, rural Manitowoc, Edward (Mary) Junk, rural Manitowoc, Beverly Junk, rural Manitowoc, Richard (Jody) Junk, Elkhorn, Pauline (Jay) Bengston, Carrollton, TX, Patty (Tom) Bekkers, Denmark, Tony (Sue) Junk, rural Whitelaw, Annette (Mike) Backhaus, rural Manitowoc, Karen (Paul) Litz, St. Nazianz, and Kay (Kevin) Gilbertson, Elk Mound; 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Helen Junk and Jeanette Junk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Anna Berger; her husband: Ronald Junk; one son-in-law: Chuck Windus; three grandchildren: Joseph Litz, Alicia Junk, and Brian Bengston; one sister and brother-in-law: Anna (Carson) Freye; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 9, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. Christian Raj will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
