Evelyn C. Hein, age 83, of Manitowoc, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls with her daughters at her side.
Evelyn was born on February 24, 1941 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanore (Winkel) Scholl. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1959 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On February 20, 1960 Evelyn married William Hein at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2004. Evelyn and her husband Bill owned and operated the Bill Hein State Farm Insurance Agency. Evelyn was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, crocheting and spending time in Las Vegas and Mesa Arizona.
She is survived by her four daughters: Sandy Hein (Jim) Gauthier, Manitowoc, Debra Vogel (Norman) Cox, Las Vegas, NV, Tari Bell (Kevin Thomas), TX, Laura (Rob) Metallo, Kenosha; eight grandchildren: Jeremy Barbeau, Neenah, Danielle Barbeau, Manitowoc, Brittney (Joseph) Johnson, FL, Jerry Erickson, MD, Nicholas Erickson, FL, Amanda Erickson, FL, Emily Erickson, FL, Katy Croeker, TN; six great-grandchildren: Cameron, Ashlyn, Eric, Allison, Dalton, Evelynn; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Joyce Vnuk, Manitowoc, Cory (Mark) Borchardt, Brookfield; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ronnie (Heidi) Hein, FL, Phillip (Betty) Hein, OH, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William Hein; parents: Arthur and Eleanore Scholl; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Mathias and Emily Hein; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: James (Kathy) Hein, Lester (Jan) Hein, Ronnie Vnuk; niece: Nadine Vnuk.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will officiate with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
