Floyd J. Knitter, age 90 of Two Rivers, passed away Thursday morning, September 23, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Floyd was born on June 16, 1931 in Wisconsin, son of the late Michael and Marie Knitter. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard at the age of 17 and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War on the front lines as a Gunner. On July 9, 1955 Floyd married Bernice Wunsch. He worked in construction building homes with his father then his son and finally working with his grandson. Floyd loved fishing, hunting, going to the cabin and family vacations. He also loved animals, especially fond of Betsy the cat and Pluto a pit bull. Floyd’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Bernice Knitter, one son James J. Knitter (Kimberly Cookle), three grandchildren Vinson J. Knitter, Spensor J. Knitter and Kati Jo C. Knitter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Lester Knitter and one niece Debbie Loose.
