Gary Walter Meyer

Gary Walter Meyer, age 81, lifelong resident of Manitowoc, passed away early Monday evening, March 22, 2021 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation center, Manitowoc.Gary was born on July 31, 1939 in Manitowoc, son of the late Sherburn Kenneth and Martha Louise (Zabler) Meyer. He graduated with the class of 1957 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On August 1, 1959 Gary married the former Joan Marie Kraemer in Manitowoc. He worked as an Aluminum Slitter for Mirro Company for over 50 years until his retirement. Gary enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and grandchildren and also, going to the casino for fun.Survivors include his wife: Joan Meyer, Manitowoc; three children: Steve Meyer, North Poland, IN, Linda Radke, Lafayette, CO, Gary D. Meyer, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Louise (Alan) Koch, Suzanne Birkholtz; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Sherburn and Martha Meyer; one brother: Sherb Meyer; two sisters: Nancy Marsalle, Cindy Granger.Gary's wishes were to donate his body to science with memorial services and burial of his cremated remains, to be held at a later date. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Manitowoc Humane Society in his name.
