Gelane Marilyn Goldbeck, 90 of Plymouth, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 17, 2023 at Countryside Manor were she has been a resident for the past 3 years.
She was born January 23, 1933 to the late Walter and Vera (Proefrock) Gumtow in the Town of Mitchell. She was baptized February 19, 1933 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade and attended school at Spring Farm School in the Town of Mitchell. On July 21, 1956 she was united in marriage to Leonard Goldbeck at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade were they resided in Chicago until moving to Plymouth in 1958. Leonard preceded her in death June 27, 1987.
She worked several years at Cleveland Container Corporation and cared for children out of her home in Plymouth. She was always willing to join any activity. She loved to go camping, fast walks, and traveling. She loved to tend to her vegetables and flower garden while listening to the birds in the backyard. You could often find her reading the newspaper, listening to the scanner or playing cards. Everyone knew her as Grandma G. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
Gelane is survived by her two children: daughter Cindy (Dan) Connors of Sheboygan Falls and son Dean (Mary) Goldbeck of Hancock; four grandchildren: Jen (Kevin) Humphrey of Sheboygan Falls, Val (Will) Steiner of Oshkosh, Kylie (Becca) Rotolo of Winfield, IL and Hanna Goldbeck of Simpsonville, SC; five great-grandchildren: Tiffany (special friend Colin) Humphrey, Dylan (special friend Hope) Humphrey, Dustin Humphrey, Adeline Steiner and Enzo Steiner. One brother Walter (Charlotte) Gumtow of Monroe. Gelane is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Norbert (Helen) Gumtow, aunts, uncles, other relatives and a special friend Bob Ehlenbeck.
Funeral service for Gelane will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Wittkopp Funeral & Cremation Services, 123 South Street, with Rev. Don Haase Officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the funeral home from 9:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In preference to flowers a memorial fund is being established in Gelane's name, donations can be made out to the family.
