George E. Mazanec

George E. Mazanec, age 91 of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center Manitowoc County.

He was born on November 13, 1934, in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Menza) Mazanec. George graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1952. He was employed at Imperial Eastman from 1962 until his retirement. On March 10, 1956, George married the former Hildegarde Vetter in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death December 6, 2016. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. George enjoyed buying and selling.

He is survived by four children: Jeff (Debbi) Mazanec, Appleton, Debra Leoni, MO, Bob Mazanec, Two Rivers, Patricia Mazanec, IL; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Gladys Mazanec, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. George was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Anna Mazanec; his wife: Hildegarde Mazanec; one brother: Joseph Mazanec; one sister: Gladyce Ruzek; one sister-in-law: Sophie Vetter.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at First Lutheran Church, 521 N. 8th St., Manitowoc. Rev. Andy Wendle will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the item of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in George’s name.
