Georgianna Manlick Obituary

Georgianna (Braun) Manlick, age 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.

Georgianna was born on December 4, 1925 in the town of Cato, daughter of the late Anton and Louise (Lemberger) Braun. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Whitelaw.  She married Roman Manlick at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw on October 5, 1946.  Roman and Georgianna ran the Manlick family farm in Clarks Mills for many years until their retirement. Roman preceded her in death on March 21, 1996.  Georgianna continued to live on the farm until 2017 when she moved to Felician Village Assisted Living in Manitowoc.  She was an active member of St. Mary’s in Clarks Mills for many years including the Marian Council, helping with funerals and sharing her beautiful flower arrangements whenever needed.  She enjoyed cooking (offered to have anyone sit down and eat whenever they visited), baking, sewing (made many of her own clothes and mended for the rest of us) and working in her vegetable and flower gardens.  All of her family reaped the benefits of her vegetable gardens as she would share fresh and canned vegetables every chance possible. Her homemade applesauce was the favorite of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed bowling and trap shooting in her younger years, and loved riding her 4 wheeler and deer hunting with her family on their land until her late 80’s.

Survivors include 3 children: Shirley (Larry) Walters, Manitowoc; Bill (Val) Manlick, rural Reedsville: Jim (Jackie) Manlick, Green Bay; 4 grandchildren: Nick (Kerry) Walters, Maribel; Carrie Walters, Manitowoc; Philip (Lauren) Manlick, Olympia WA; Erin (Jack Morrison), Columbia Heights, MN; 3 great grandchildren: Alex Bolle, Jasmin Walters and Aubrey Walters.  She is further survived by 2 brothers: Al (Janet) Braun; Gordy (Alice) Braun; 1 sister-in-law; Laura Braun. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Gertrude (Wilbert) Hastreiter; Janet McDaniel; Vivian (William) Rychtarik; 4 brothers: Anton Braun, Jr; Herbert Braun; Elmer Braun, Norbert (Gail) Braun; 2 Brothers-in-law; Frederick Manlick; Edward Manlick; 1 sister-in-law Mildred (Elmer) Kleman.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarks Mills on Saturday, January 17, 2026 with visitation from 9-11:00 am and funeral mass at 11:00 am. Rev. Arogya Prashanth Gade will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Georgianna will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Felician Village including the Court and St. Mary’s nursing home for the wonderful care of our mom for the past 9 years.
