Geraldine M. Wojta, age 97, formerly of Two Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Okalee of Medina, MN.
Geraldine was born October 26, 1924 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Thomas and Luella (Keehan) Bradley. She grew up on a farm. She was a graduate of Denmark High School with the Class of 1942. On June 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Daniel A. Wojta at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2015.
Geraldine always said she enjoyed her years growing up on the farm with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren, her career as a cosmetologist and owner of Geraldine's Beauty Salon, many hours of reading books, singing in the St. Luke's Choir and being a member of the Homemakers Club in Two Rivers. She loved to go on walks along the beach and around Neshota Park and always loved her neighbors and friends. In her earlier years after marrying, she and Daniel would spend many happy hours fishing together.
Geraldine was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church for 20 years, a member of the Resurrection Choir at the former St. Luke’s Catholic Church, the Homemakers Club of Two Rivers, Two Rivers Senior Center and had worked as the beautician at Park Lawn Nursing Home for many years. She was the owner/operator of Geraldine’s Beauty Salon for 30 years.
Survivors include her children: Laurel Bradley, Two Rivers; Linda Christiansen, Minneapolis; Randal (Tracy) Wojta, Minneapolis; her grandchildren: Meghan (Steven) Tousignant, Minneapolis, Ashley Christiansen, Minneapolis, Samantha (Matt) Bennett, California, Brycen (Katie) Wojta, Minneapolis, Colton Wojta, Minneapolis: her great grandchildren: Seamus Tousignant, Niamh Tousignant and Rory Tousignant and sister-in-law Laverne Bradley and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Luella (Keehan) Bradley, and her father-in-law Anton Wojta and mother-in-law Anna (Kaiser) Wojta and her sisters and brothers Dorothy (Kenneth) Dewane, Michael (Sally) Bradley, George (Elaine) Bradley, Thomas Bradley, Raymond (Nancy) Bradley, Grace (Edward) Thiel, Jerome (Patricia) Bradley, Marilyn (Alvan) Ourada and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rose (Kenneth) Krofta and Jerome (Phyllis) Wojta.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dick Klingeisen with burial to take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tisch Mills at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A luncheon will follow services.
