Gertrude Caroline Sadowski, Age 91 of Manitowoc was called by the Lord and passed on to eternal life on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Hospital.
Gertrude was born June 16, 1930 in Maple Grove, WI, daughter of the late Kosmas and Caroline (Pritzl) Miller.
Gertrude graduated High School in 1948. On October 2, 1954 she married Simon Sadowski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brillion, Simon preceded her in death on July 12, 2002. She enjoyed her time as a waitress at Sorges Charcoal House and Steffens Charcoal House for 20 years and at the Holiday Inn for 13 years. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community and a former member of St. Joseph Parish Council. She also volunteered for many years at HFM-Harbor Town. She always found time for her family and friends and loved spending time with them. Getrude was strong-willed and she was determined to live in her home as long as she could. With the help of her sons she was able to live in her home for all but the last few weeks of her days here. She enjoyed 91 amazing years, raising her boys, traveling with Simon, spending time with her grandchildren and especially treasuring the time with her only granddaughter; they shared a very special bond. She was so excited to welcome the latest addition to her family, identical twin great-grandsons. No matter how hard her last days were, she perked up when her grandchildren came to visit and speaking of the newborn twins brought a smile to her face and a bit of a giggle. Gertrude enjoyed working in her Sudoku books, playing board games, working on puzzles, listening to the radio and cheering on the Packers.
She will be sadly missed by her four sons and two daughters-in-law: Scott Sadowski, Steven and Kathy Sadowski, Shawn and Naomi Sadowski and Stacy Sadowski, all of Manitowoc. Three very special grandchildren: Justin (Sara) Sadowski, Miranda (Ryan) Feldman and Tyler Sadowski. Three Great Grand Children: Adrianna, and twins Jackson and Grayson. Also surviving her are three Step-grandchildren: William (Leah) Schmidt, Hannah Schmidt, and Coralee Schmidt, sister-in-law, Doris Miller, Sherwood, and many nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and eight sisters.
