Glen P. Deisinger, age 88, of Manitowoc, passed away early Monday morning, December 20, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Glen was born on January 31, 1933 in Evergreen, Langlade, WI, son of the late Julius and Irene (Hayes) Deisinger. Upon graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army and later went on to serve in the Army Reserves. Glen was a Veteran of Vietnam War. He served as an engineer/mechanic. Glen worked his early years at Maynard Steel in Milwaukee and Mirro in Manitowoc. He retired from Tecumseh in New Holstein after 28 years. Glen went to school in Chicago for mechanics and electronics. He also attended school in Madison for Diesel Mechanics. On January 17, 1958 Glen married the former Irma Meier in Furth, Germany where he was stationed while in the Army.
Glen was a life member of the Veteran of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. His hobbies included hunting, and fishing, gardening, bird watching, spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glen loved traveling all over the U.S. and Europe many times throughout his life.
Glen was a wonderful husband, father, opa and friend to all. He was a very gentle and compassionate soul. His faith in God, his church and being a Christian was everything to him. He was a Man of his word, and had faith in all.
He is survived by his wife; Irma Deisinger, Manitowoc; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Carol (Mark) Meyers, Manitowoc, Dona (John) Offenbecher, Appleton; six grandchildren: Jamie Seal, Manitowoc, Stacy (Baudelio) Beltran, Newton, Shawn Seal, Manitowoc, Dyann (Tyrone) Fairbanks, Fond du Lac, Cyndel Sawall, Neenah, Mark Offenbecher, Appleton; ten great-grandchildren: Alissa Seal, Cierra Seal, Tyler Seal, Ryen Glen Seal, Kameron Seal, Alexander Seal all of Manitowoc, Bianca Seal, Cruz Seal, both of Newton, Taylor Zeitlow, Manitowoc, Dathaniel Seal; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Bernard (Grace) Deisinger, Loren Deisinger, both of White Lake; two sisters: Bernadine Skorie, White Lake, Audrey Gilligan, Suring, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Julius and Irene Deisinger; one grandchild: Danny Offenbecher; two brothers: Clyde Deisinger, Donald Deisinger; one sister and brother-in-law: Eloyis (Purgie) Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Military Graveside Honors will be accorded by American Legion Drews-Blesser Post #88. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Livestreaming will be available on lakeshore Family Funeral Homes Facebook page starting at 10:45 AM. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
