Gordon A. Schneider, 81, of Manitowoc, died Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Gordon was born on June 12, 1940, in Milwaukee to the late Clarence and Margaret (Halfmann) Schneider. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School. On May 7, 1960 he married Bernardine Moddie at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Fr. Ed Nowakowski in Armstrong Creek, WI. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2013. Gordon worked in the traffic department at Hamilton, Foreway Express and was the owner and president of Schlei Dray Line from 1983-2012.
Gordon was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending the winters in Floral Lakes Retirement Community in Bartow, FL, golfing, playing baseball, hunting and fishing.
Gordon is survived by four children: Jacque M. Ross, her significant other, Tom Bonnefoi, Manitowoc, Randall J. (Barbara) Schneider, Newton, Michael (Sheri) Schneider, Green Bay, and Robert F. (Jennifer) Schneider, Valders; six grandchildren: Jacob Ross, Dakota Ross, Brant Schneider, Sydney Schneider, Aaron Schneider and Zophia Schneider; two step-grandchildren: Marna Hayes and Matt Hayes; five brothers and one sister: Wayne (Barbara) Schneider, Glenn (Barbara) Schneider, Dennis (Jennifer) Schneider, Sue (Mark) Schmitt, Kenny (Patti) Schneider and Gary (Kim) Schneider; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Doris Shoulak, Carol (Ron) Schiesl, and Donald (Nancy) Moddie. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Bernardine; son-in-law, Jesse Ross; his parents; parents-in-law: Stanley and Cecelia Moddie; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Stanley (Dorthie) Moddie, and Lloyd Shoulak; and one nephew, Donnie Mark Moddie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1416 Grand Ave., Manitowoc, with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the CHURCH from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
