Harriet J. Kopetsky, age 95 of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Lakehouse of Manitowoc.
Harriet was born on August 8, 1928, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Schleisleder) Hall. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1946. On May 13, 1950, she married Gordon F. Kopetsky at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2019. Harriet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, especially bridge, and spending time at the Holy Family Wellness Center. For a number of years, she served her Manitowoc community working at the election polls. Harriet was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Claire Society, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul where she volunteered for many years. Harriet and Gordon were ardent supporters of the Manitowoc-Kamogawa sister city relationship. Over the years, a friendship developed with the Suzuki family and Takeshi became their “Japanese son” enjoying many years of home stay with his “United States parents.”
Survivors include her children: Mark and Jenny Kopetsky, Fox Point, WI, Lee and Connie Kopetsky, Fort Atkinson, WI, Lynn Zimney (Jon Newberg), Manitowoc and Scott and Jody Kopetsky, Oconomowoc, WI; six grandchildren: John (Kyra), Claire, Neil, Jill, Grace, and Gwen; one great grandchild: Juniper; one sister: Sister Sue Ann Hall, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Marge) Hall; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eugene (Irene) Kopetsky and Lawrence (Lucille) Kopetsky.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Matt Colle with burial of Harriets cremated remains to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave), Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Mom’s love and support were endless. Mom gave us strength when we were weak, guidance when we were lost, and love when we were lonely. We are left with fond memories and the knowledge that a piece of her lives on in each of our hearts.
