Janet J. Kriescher, age 87 of Two Rivers, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Janet was born on February 12, 1938 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine (Denessen) Shibley. On October 5, 1957, Janet married Elton Kriescher at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Green Bay. He preceded her in death May 29, 2018. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Janet loved quilting, knitting, crocheting, playing Sheepshead, and cooking. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son: Mark Kriescher, Strafford; two daughters: Kathy (Bruce) Czarnecki, Hurley, Becky Kriescher, Two Rivers; four grandchildren: Brittany Czarnecki, Madison, Alex Czarnecki, Fond du Lac, Blake (Ashley) Schermetzler, Two Rivers, Kaily Schermetzler, Two Rivers; one sister: Barbara Van Straten, New London; one sister-in-law: Jackie Kriescher, Green Bay; one brother-in-law: Randy Klatt, Great Falls,MT; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Geraldine Shibley; husband: Elton Kriescher; great-grandchild: Braxton Schermetzler; three sisters: Carol Dresang, Lonnie Klatt, Mary Payne; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Don (Carol) Kriescher, Eugene (Judy) Kriescher, Beatrice (Wencil) Konop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Beaudry will Celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, preceded by visitation at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
