Janet Helen (Kornely) Lensmeyer

Janet H. Lensmeyer, age 89, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Shady Lane in Manitowoc.                  

Janet was born on April 2, 1937, to the late Leo and Alice (Bonin) Kornely. She graduated with the class of 1954 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On April 12, 1958, she married Joseph Lensmeyer at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2013. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going fishing at White Potato Lake and was an avid bowler. Her family also fondly remembers her baking fresh rye bread for them after school.

Janet is survived by her daughter: Diane (Randy) Steffen; son: David (Chris) Lensmeyer; son-in-law: Darel and Bridgit Biely; grandchildren: John (Kristin) Biely, Sarah (Kendall) Thorne, Aaron (Melissa) Steffen, Derek Steffen, Jared (fiancé Anna) Lensmeyer, and Alex (significant other Maisie) Lensmeyer; great grandchildren: Ellie, Kylie, Kobe, Reagan, Hadley, and Nash; and sister-in-law: Judy Kornely; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Janet was preceded in death by her daughter: Julie Biely; parents: Leo and Alice Kornely; brother: Richard Kornely, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Francis Creek at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, June 5, 2026 at church from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and again on Saturday at 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Janet will be laid to rest at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
