Jeannie A. Hassemer

Jeannie A. Hassemer, age 81, formerly of Francis Creek, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.

Jeannie was born November 7, 1943 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Martin and June (Arkens) Katzka. She attended schools in Manitowoc, graduating with the class of 1961 from Lincoln High School. On April 24, 1964 Jeannie married Ralph Hassemer at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Francis Creek. He preceded her in death September 9, 1995. Jeannie worked for many years at Green Acres until her retirement. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Francis Creek. She enjoyed painting, camping, snowmobiling and downhill skiing.

Jeannie is survived by three children: Daryl (Gina) Hassemer, Two Rivers, Kevin (Christy) Hassemer, Francis Creek, and Jody (Jeff) Kintopf, Francis Creek; six grandchildren: Jon Hassemer, Bryce Hassemer (special friend Valerie and her son Barrett), Alesha Hassemer (special friend Katie), Isabel Hassemer, Kayla Kintopf (special friend Justin), Kyle Kintopf (fiancé Cadee), one great grandson: Tristan; six siblings: Richard (Joyce) Katzka, twin sister Joanie Hutterer, Cheryl (Ronald) Basken, Danny (Denise) Katzka, Dennis (Karen) Katzka, and Kay (Todd) Kohlmeier; one sister-in-law: Anne Hassemer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents: Martin and June Katzka; Husband: Ralph Hassemer, brother-in-law: John Hutterer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harold (LaVerne) Hassemer, Milton Hassemer, LaVerne (James) Tuma; four nephews: Dennis Hassemer, Frank Hassemer, Christopher Katzka, and Stevie Hutterer.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Francis Creek Rev. Christian Raj will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Aurora at Home Hospice and Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for the care and compassion given to Jeannie.
