John Kleckner Obituary

John Matthew Kleckner, 91, Manitowoc, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Tender Reflections in Manitowoc.John was born on July 21, 1929 in the town of Meeme, WI to Matthew and Hildegard (Stein) Kleckner. John was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. He began working construction with his dad at the age of 14. On June 19, 1954 he married Beverly Kolb, she preceded him in death on September 24, 1994. On November10, 2000 he married Doris Bruckshen. John worked for 36 years at the Kohler Company, working as a carpenter and working the last 18 years as a Foreman of the mason, carpenters and paint shop. John was a member of St. John-St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland, where he was chairman of the front entrance and stain-glass window projects as well as serving as various positions on the church council. John was a member of the Cleveland Fire Department, Fishing and Game and Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling and camping.John is survived by his wife, Doris of Manitowoc; one daughter: Karla Bergman of Racine; two grandchildren: Andrew Bergman of Racine and Kelsey Bergman of Appleton; two great-grandchildren: Cael and Maxton; two sisters: LaVerne Griepentrog and JoAnn Kleckner; one brother: Edward (Marlene) Kleckner; and two sisters-in-law: Marlys Kleckner and Sharon Bruckshen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Beverly; and one brother: Thomas Kleckner.A private service was held to celebrate John's life at St. John-St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Cleveland, Rev. Steven Wall officiated.
