John "Ernie" F. Ernst

John “Ernie” F. Ernst, age 60, of Two Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.

John was born on September 1, 1964 to the late Leonard and Verna (Schultz) Ernst. He was a 1982 graduate of Two Rivers High School. He then went on to earn a culinary degree from Fox Valley Technical College. John worked as a chef, starting his career at the Lighthouse Inn. John cherished spending time with his sister, brothers and their families, and he enjoyed playing tennis in his younger days, boating, fishing with his brothers and riding his electric bike.

John is survived by his siblings: James (Sharon) Ernst, Terry (Lana) Ernst, William (Michelle) Ernst, Robert (Laurie Becker) Ernst, Richard (Barb) Ernst, and Sandy (Jeff) Wachowski; nieces and nephews: Patrick (Marilyn) Ernst, Scot (Karli) Ernst, Kerry (Keith Dax) Rivest, Rebecca (Mark Gordon) Ernst, Erica (Mark) Weber, Tiffany Ernst, Craig (Beth) Ernst, Thomas (Elizabeth) Anderson, Kimberly (Christopher) Cremeans, Dustin Wachowski, and Brandon (Sadie) Wachowski;  Uncle: Dale Schultz and his lifelong best friend: Guy Holtz. He is further survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Leonard and Verna Ernst, sister-in-law: Elizabeth Campanaro; nephew: Jason Ernst, and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd St., Two Rivers, at 12:00 pm with Rev. Mark Schmitt officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park.
