Joyce Fogeltanz Obituary

Joyce M. Fogeltanz, age 84 of Kellnersville passed to her eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc surrounded by her loving family.

The former Joyce Zipperer was born on March 15, 1939, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John A. and Cecilia (Stradal) Zipperer. She grew up in the town of Franklin and was a 1957 graduate of Valders High School. Soon after graduating from Beauty School, Joyce married her sweetheart John Fogeltanz Jr on November 15, 1958, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. She worked as a hairdresser and later as a dressing maker at Weber’s Country Inn for 29 years. Her life devotion was her family. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, and trying her luck at casinos. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and it’s Rosary Society. She served on the Worship Committee and her faith was very important to her.

Survivors include her husband: John Fogeltanz Jr., Kellnersville; her five children: David (Vicki) Fogeltanz, Two Rivers, Denise Wiskow, Hartland, Michelle (Mike) Faust, Milwaukee, Mark (Brenda) Fogeltanz, Kellnersville, and Keith (Lydia) Fogeltanz, Francis Creek; nine grandchildren: Wayne (Tiffany) Fogeltanz, Eva (Billy) Lankford, Cara (Jon) Simmons, Asher Wiskow, Rachel (AJ) and Ella Fogeltanz, and Emma, Abby, and Alex Fogeltanz; eight great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Paul (Sharon) Zipperer, Appleton; one foster sister and brother-in-law: Nancy (Harvey) Janette, Whitelaw; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Donald (Sandra) Fogeltanz, Kellnersville; ten nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John A. and Cecilia Zipperer; her foster parents: Mike and Viola Meidl; one son-in-law: Mark Wiskow; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Monica Fogeltanz Sr.; three foster brothers and sisters-in-law: Jim (Patsy) Meidl, Norbert (Rosie) Meidl, Marvin (Jackie) Meidl; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lorraine (Richard) Rysticken and LeRoy (Joyce) Fogeltanz.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The Rev. Santiago Turiano Jr. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
