Judith Ann Holder (nee Zagrodnik)

November 15, 1939 – August 16, 2025 (age 85)

Judith Ann Holder (nee Zagrodnik), age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at Shady Lane Assisted Living in Manitowoc, WI.

Judith was born November 15th, 1939, to Leona and Albert Zagrodnik in Manitowoc, WI.  Judith graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1958 where she excelled academically, being inducted into the National Honor Society her senior year.

After High School, Judith went on to Nursing School, graduating from Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago, IL, in 1961.  Judith’s continued academic success in Nursing School resulted in her being selected the President of her graduating class.  After graduation, Judith went on to work as a Registered Nurse in Manitowoc, WI, being employed by several different health care organizations over the course of her career.  Judith eventually went on to become Nursing Director for several of these organizations.  Judith also was a Nursing Instructor at Silver Lake College and Lakeshore Technical College, where she passed along her in-depth nursing knowledge and professionalism to future nurses.

On July 15th, 1963, Judith married Dr. Lynn Wayman Holder of Carbondale, IL, whom she met in Chicago while attending Nursing School.  In 2023 Judith and Lynn celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.

Judith and Lynn had seven children; 5 boys and 2 girls, along with 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren (and still counting).  Judith took great pleasure in spending quality time with her grandchildren, and watched with pride as they grew up.

Judith was an avid traveler and visited many different cities and locations in the US and internationally.  Judith and Lynn shared a love of warm and sunny places, spending considerable time together in Arizona and Florida during their retirement.  Judith was also a talented quiltmaker, a voracious reader, and enjoyed hosting large, and oftentimes raucous, family gatherings for holidays and birthdays.  Whenever Judith was with her family there was always lots of laughter and love.

Survivors include: Four sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffrey (Jean) Holder, Scott (Trissy) Holder, Dr. Christopher (Deanna) Holder, and Dr. Eric (Dr. Suzanne) Holder.  Two daughters and one son-in-law: Marya Roffers, and Jennifer (Daniel) Siehr.  Thirteen grandchildren: Dr. Ian Holder, Seth Holder, Alex Holder, Andrea Holder, Gillian Holder, Samuel Roffers, Nicholas Roffers, Payton Siehr, Cole Siehr, Cade Holder, Kory Holder, Ryan Holder, and Jacob Holder.  Two sisters: Winifred Krajnik and Betty Adler.  Judith was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Lynn W. Holder, her parents Leona and Albert Zagrodnik, and son Stephen J. Holder.

Cremation services were provided by All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, WI.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Waldo site, 1121 N 14th St, Manitowoc, WI formerly known as Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Interment will occur immediately after the church service at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The Holder Family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi, Waldo site from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM.
