Kathie F. (Fechalos) Rigas

Kathie F. Rigas, 76, of Sheboygan passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Kathie was born on March 22, 1946 in Hammond, IN to Anton and Lillian (Mehas) Fechalos. She was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School. On October 20, 1968 she married Steve Rigas. Kathie worked at Eldon Ready Elementary School in Griffith, IN for over 30 years as a school secretary until her retirement in 2008.

Kathie was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Sheboygan. In 2008 after retirement, Kathie and Steve moved to Wisconsin to be closer to their family.  For 40 years, Kathie took enjoyment in hosting Thanksgiving dinner.

Kathie is survived by her husband: Steve, Sheboygan; two sons: Frank Rigas and Chris Rigas, both of Sheboygan; grandson: McGwire Rigas (Michael Klingeisen), Sheboygan; sisters: Mary Phillips, Palos Heights, IL, and Joanne (Fr. Leo) Gavrilos, Sheboygan; brother: Bill (Nancy) Fechalos, Aurora, IL. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law: Kari Rigas; brother: George Fechalos; her father-and mother-in-law: Frank and Demetra Rigas; and brother-in-law: Ted Phillips.

Relatives and friends may greet the family for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, 123 South St. Plymouth, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
