Kathleen “Katie” W. Meister, age 86, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 with her loving husband at her side.
The former Katie Koenig was born on May 27, 1939 in New London, daughter of the late Earl and Leona (Reisdorf) Koenig. She grew up in Manitowoc, and was a 1957 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On February 17, 1958 Katie was married to Robert A. Meister at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
Katie and Bob lived in California, Florida, and Wisconsin and traveled to most of the 50 states together. Katie worked in a variety of jobs in Florida and Wisconsin. She was a devoted Catholic, involved in several church activities, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and the St. Clare Society. She enjoyed listening to Sunday Mass. Katie was an excellent cook, kept beautiful gardens, and was an amazing bargain hunter, when she shopped. She was also talented at all sorts of arts and crafts. Her grandkids remember the beautiful Christmas trees she decorated, the delicious s’mores she made at their cottage, and all the crafts she did with them. Later in life, she enjoyed her time at the casino, crafting when she was able, and drinking an occasional cocktail, made by and enjoyed with her husband.
