Kelly Sweetman Obituary

Kelly Edward Sweetman, 60, of Manitowoc passed away peacefully at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Kelly was born on April 3, 1962 in Manitowoc to Patricia Vetter and Gordon Sweetman. He was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln High School. Kelly was a practical joker with a heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Kelly loved woodworking, listening to oldies, building, working and flying RC Airplanes and attending car shows. He was a big kid at heart, which his nieces and nephews adored and meant more to him than words could describe. Especially Meghan and Kevin. Meghan, his niece, spent a lot of time listening to oldies music and cruising around town, getting Dairy Queen treats and ending the night watching TV. Kevin, his godchild, spent time outdoors working on cars, airplanes, and woodworking. Kelly also enjoyed spending time with his “little buddy” Tristan, who was also his godchild.

Kelly was known for his friendliness and making the best ham sandwiches. He never hesitated to let people know his opinion and that he loved them. Regardless of who you were or the circumstance, you would always leave with a story or something funny that Kelly did while you were with him. He lived a full and vibrant life with more friends that you could count.

Kelly is survived by a special niece: Meghan (Bruce) Tuma; two godsons: Kevin (Amanda) Sweetman, and Tristan Otte; sisters and brothers: Christine Brunner, Cathrine (Randi) Heyduk, Kurt (Brenda) Sweetman, Keith (fiancé Amy) Sweetman, and Carol (Gary) Paider. He is further survived by a special person: Jamie Schindler and his children, Avery and Cannon; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and countless friends. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew: Chip Fischer.
