Laverne "Vern" R. Robson

Laverne Russell “Vern” Robson, 84, of Sheboygan passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Vern was born on March 11, 1938 in Spring Green a son to the late Arthur and Lulu (Strang) Robson. He graduated from Iowa County schools.  He entered the Air Force after high school graduation and served from 1957 to 1969. During this time, he serviced the F4C Phantom II Fighter Bombers, was stationed in Thailand, Green Land, and numerous US bases, and achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant. In 1959 he was married to Joyce Oleson. After leaving the Air Force he worked at Kohler Co. in the generator division for 31 years. In retirement he enjoyed being active and productive with a wide variety of projects and interests. He always looked forward to wintering in Harlingen, Texas.

Vern is survived by his four children, Jody Schmid, Letha (Keith) Rudie, Cheryl McKnight, and David (Lisa) Robson; grandchildren: Michael (Helen) Schmid, Sarah Schmid, Lydia (Clayton) Slotke, Nicole Kannel, Jacob (Courtney) McKnight, Lucas (Jennifer) McKnight, Jack Robson and Sonja Robson; great grandchildren: Clara Slotke, Mason and Bryson Kannel, and Felicity McKnight.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife and his children’s mother Joyce Oleson, son-in-laws Jim Schmid and David McKnight and his brother Melford.

Cremation will take place with a private family service held at a later date.
