Leo W. “Butch” Shebesta Jr., age 86 of Manitowoc passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.
Leo was born on June 25, 1937, at Tisch Miils, son of the late Leo and Lucille (Sinkula) Shebesta Sr. On June 28, 1957, Leo married the former Geraldine J. Nellis at Maplewood Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2018. Leo worked as a machinist for the Manitowoc Company for 44 years, he was also co-owner with his wife of Home Service Cleaners for 16 years. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATVing and traveling by car throughout the United States. He was a member of The Deaf Club of Wisconsin.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Tom (Ann) Shebesta, Mishicot and Todd (Sylvie) Shebesta, Francis Creek; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lucy (Ronald) Cigler, Rural Manitowoc, and Lori (Tim) Kronberger, Van Dyne; five grandchildren: Nicole, Robert, Krysta, Kaylyn, and Kelsey; four great grandchildren: Lillee, Samantha, Ava, and Edith; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Bertha Stoeller, Carolyn Conrad, Patti Nellis, and Gerald Nellis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Lucille Shebesta Sr., his wife: Geraldine Shebesta, one sister and brother-in-law: Bernadine (Roger) Schneider; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Francis (Millie) Nellis, Rita (Erwin) Columb, Frank Stoeller, Jack Conrad, Janet Nellis, Patrick Nellis.
Cremation has taken place at the All-Care Cremation Center in Manitowoc and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th St., Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with burial of his cremated remains to take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tisch Mills. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
