Leonard Crego IV Obituary

Leonard Edwin Crego IV (lovingly known as Lenny), 35, of Glendale, WI, was born to eternal life in West Allis, WI, on April 29, 2025.

Born in Milwaukee in 1989 to Bridgette Crego and Leonard E. Crego III, Lenny embraced life with passion and humor. Throughout his childhood he participated in various sports, playing baseball (earning a cool black eye as proof) and rugby (returning home with a broken collarbone after the first day of practice—a core memory for his little sister).

Lenny attended Nicolet High School, where he boldly attempted to recreate his father’s famous 30-pound lasagna for a culinary class. Not a drop of sauce survived the onslaught of hungry high schoolers. It’s just that good. After conquering every teenager’s greatest challenge—high school—he pursued a degree in culinary arts at Milwaukee Area Technical College. While the details of his college adventures remain a mystery, one truth is undeniable: anything Lenny cooked for his loved ones was an absolute delight.

He refined his exceptional culinary skills and poured his heart into serving others at various restaurants and institutions, including the Harbor House, the Iron Horse, The Charmant Hotel, The White House and most recently, for Delaware North at American Family Field—home of the Brewers.

Lenny is survived by his beloved mother, Bridgette Crego; his father, Leonard E. Crego III; his wife, Brittany Crego; his cherished children, Charlotte and Clayton Crego; and his sister, Tehya Crego. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Crego family (paternal) and Hasslinger/Bergwall clan (maternal), who loved him deeply. Family can be a little wild at times, but Lenny always treasured the love that bound them together, knowing they would always stand by one another in times of need.

Memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Hartland, WI. Rev. Allan Weinert will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
