Letty Loescher Obituary

Letty S. Loescher, age 79 of Manitowoc, passed away early on Easter Sunday morning April 4, 2021 at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County. Letty was born on September 20, 1941 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Erich and Sylvia (Kitzerow) Steiner. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1959 graduate of Lincoln High School. On June 10, 1961, Letty was married to vicar Waldemar O. Loescher at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Letty is remembered as a resourceful pastor's wife in Zealand, ND, Mound City, SD, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Wetaskawan, Alberta, Canada, Wildwood, Alberta, Canada and Morrison WI. She raised their four daughters and helped raise 29 foster children while living in Morrison. Pastor Loescher retired 2001 and the couple moved to Manitowoc in 2002. Letty then worked at the Manitowoc Lutheran High School in the library. She was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church, the Church's Choir and Ladies Aid. In her free time Letty enjoyed working on crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and furniture refinishing and upholstery. She also wrote poetry and had one of her poems published.Survivors include: her husband Pastor em. Waldemar Loescher, Manitowoc; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Heidi Loescher, Eustis, FL and her fiancée: Donald Seefeldt, Waukesha,WI, Ruth Loescher, Eustis, FL, Deborah (Rafael) Rivera, Mt. Dora, FL, Sarah (Daniel) Splinter, Edgerton, four grandchildren: Skyler Rivera, Antonio Rivera, Sophia Rivera, Athena Splinter; one brother and sister-in-law: Terry (Diane) Steiner, Sheboygan Falls; her many foster children and their families, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, private funeral services will be held for the immediate family at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Pastors Jacob Hoff and Kurt Loescher will officiate with burial to follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Morrison. Relatives and friends may join in a live stream on the Lakeshore Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made out to the Manitowoc Lutheran High School Media Center or First German Ev. Lutheran Church.
