Linda Wallander Obituary

Linda Louise (Singer) Wallander,73, of Manitowoc passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, surrounded by her family at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.

Linda was born on May 14, 1952 in Antigo to the late Joseph and Elaine (Grabowsky) Singer. She was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. On June 17, 1972, she married Edward Joseph Wallander. Over the years, Linda was employed as a Penguin Car Hop,and later worked at Holy Family Convent and HomeCare Health Services.

Linda was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was very active. She sang in the choir and was a member of the guitar group. She served on the council and created theme dinners for years, and she and Ed were both youth advisors. Linda loved music and playing guitar. She wrote over 40 Christian songs.  She was very creative and had a strong interest in art. Along with friends, she decorated over 20 cabins at Christmas at Sinawa, 25 table settings at the Rahr West and several rooms for Christmas in the Mansion. Linda spent countless hours volunteering alongside Ed at the Capital Civic Center. She was a lifelong Packer Fan and a member of the Corvettes of the Bay for over 25 years. Linda enjoyed traveling and going out to dinner with friends, walks along the beaches around the world, museums were always on her list, and taking rides in the Corvette, especially on warm days with the top down.

Linda is survived by her husband: Ed Wallander; children: Edward (Amanda) Wallander, Verona, and Dawn Wallander, Manitowoc; granddaughters: Audrey and Sabrina Wallander, Verona; brother: David (Gina) Singer, CA; five foreign exchange children: Julia Naunin, Germany, Jonas Jonasson, Iceland, Luis Albareda, Mexico, Helle Gulbrandsen Lonneberg, Norway, and Selin Tuzun Atesalp, Turkey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Karen (John) Fessler, Manitowoc, Dean (Linda) Wallander, Whitelaw, Mark Wallander, AR, and Chris (Carrie) Wallander, Manitowoc. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Elaine Singer; infant daughter: Jill Wallander; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ed and Luci Wallander; brother: Larry (Barbie) Singer; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary (Gary) Konarski and Bette Wallander.

A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2601 S. 10th Street, with Rev. Heather Yerion-Keck officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
